B&R Marine - Transit Insurance

DO YOU FEEL ALL AT SEA WHEN IT COMES TO MARINE INSURANCE?
You would not be alone if, as a company looking into importing or exporting, you felt out of your depth when it comes to the subject of Marine Insurance. There are too many Insurance Brokers who, although they would never admit it, feel exactly the same.
To many, Marine Insurance conjures up images of crusty old underwriters sitting in a Dickensian style Lloyds building, pointing their quill pens at you and asking such questions as whether the shipment is CIF, FOB, FAS or CFR? Is it being shipped O/D, U/D, FCL or LCL? Do you want "A", "B" or "C" clauses? - and where do you want claims (which you immediately imagine must be inevitable) to be payable?
This is all done with good reason which is to enable them to quote you a premium but they then confuse you further by stating that cover includes War and Strikes. War!? you ask - its only going to Paris!
Seriously though, too many people seem to think that there is something dark and mysterious about Marine Insurance and therefore rely on others to arrange the insurance cover on their goods. Too many people give their goods to a carrier thinking that the carrier will fully compensate them for any loss or damage, only finding out in the event of a claim that contract conditions restrict liability to a wholly inadequately level.
At Brett & Randall however we have a specialist Marine Division and with nearly 40 years experience we are able to give you all the help and advice you need. Call us to discuss you own requirements and we'll show you that it's not such a Dark Art after all.
